The Red of Winter

We take a group of people from our church every January up to Potter County, Pa. This year we had some beautiful snow. As I walked around the barn in the snow this spot just stuck out to me as an area with a lot of character. I love the wood and the hinge. The Cardinal is one of my favorite birds. One of them has been sitting on the tree right outside my front window. Sorry, this is getting posted so close to spring. You may not want to be reminded of winter right now.

I agree with Rhonda, it might be but the amish ones are very good too, maybe because its scenes around here too? Thanks for sharing them with us.

I love the color contrast of the red cardinal against the dark barn! Was the amish man painted from a real photo you took? Keep on painting!

Once again, good job! I really like the detail.

I agree that the colour contrast with the bold red and dark of the barn interior and the detail of the wood is wonderful together! I love seeing the new paintings!

It was great seeing you again and catching up a tiny bit. I hadn't checked in here for a long time and was so happy to find this new painting. I'll buy one!!! We don't get cardinals here but I was enjoying them on my walks last week in PA. We do have the snow though, believe me. Spring seems very far away, although I know how fast it could change. Hope your health will keep improving!
