This bird is called a nut hatch. It is known for the head first way that it descends a tree. It was also brave enough to come to the bird feeder with people near by.
I don't think I ever said thanks for the print of this painting. It was a wonderful surprise, and it's so beautiful. I had it framed at Sheldon's store, and it's hanging in my entryway.
